1920s Silk Nightgown – Hand-Dyed Beauty with Vintage Lace Appliqués
This breathtaking 1920s silk nightgown is a true piece of history, transformed with a unique hand-dyeing process that gives it an ethereal, one-of-a-kind character. The long sleeves, delicate drape, and timeless elegance make it just as enchanting today as it was a century ago.
As with many vintage silk pieces, time has left its mark, but I’ve lovingly restored it by covering a few pinholes and stubborn stains with carefully chosen vintage lace appliqués. The result? A beautifully aged, artistic piece that blends history with creativity.
Please note that hand-dyeing produces irregular and organic color variations, adding to its charm. This gown is in good vintage condition for its age.
To give you styling versatility, I’m including a satin ribbon in case you'd like to cinch the waist for a more fitted silhouette.

• Antique fabrics (pre-1930s): Delicate materials such as 1920s silk or Edwardian muslin require extra care. These fabrics can be fragile and should be worn loosely to prevent stress or tearing.
Things to Consider for Edwardian & Victorian Clothing:
• A marked XS piece may have medium-sized shoulders and hips but a tiny waist (corset-era sizing).
• Sleeves are often ¾ length, not full-length.
• Buttons may be mismatched due to age and previous repairs.
